La
Bastide Solages

Situation - one part of the territory of la Bastide Solages stretches down
in the valley of the Rance, the other part in the valley Tarn. Albi is
connected with Millau by means of an old railroad.
Presence - the community has merely a agricultural background. About ten
agricultures are exploited in an area of 2100 acres. Their mean income is
the production of sheep milk for the famous Roquefort cheese. Some farmers
also cultivate the tobacco plant. Solages is the centre of this community.
To
visit – In St. Pierre there is a brick path over the Rance stowing the
water. At the borders of the Rance and Tarn one can find nice fishing and
pick nick spots.
From Solages there is a 6 km foot path leading you in many curves through
the valley of the Rance.
Beautiful sceneries await you:
-
At the statue of the holy virgin Mary, close to the village: a magnificent
view over the valley Tarn and the village.
-
From this plateau one can admire the valley of the Tarn from several
angles.
