Situation - On a height varying between 230 to 660 meters, the community of Brasc is divided between the plateau in the West and in the East, and the valley of the Tarn in the North West . The name Brasc mend in early days roasting house. In ancient times, in the occitan language it was called "pata negra" (the black paw) by the dark color of the soil. Poor soil, uncultivated, where one found chess nut woods and where one cultivated rye and later potatoes.

Present - the community is a pure agricultural area: pigs,  cows and sheep cultivation and the production of sheep milk (for the production of the Roquefort cheese) and cattle trade. Only one shop remains: a bar-tabac (a bar where one sells cigars). On the right bank of the Tarn you will find the hydro electrical dam of  La Croux. The first weekend of July is the village party with its traditional meal. A small camp site and cottages are awaiting you.
